Syria, gained its complete independence in late 1940s. for the leaders of the nation, independence and its after effects were challenging tasks. The country was initially colonized for centuries under the colonial rule. With time, the government had to face a number fo challenges that actually led to the fall of democracy in this country. Some of the most common causes of the fall of democracy were:-

1. Over throw of the ruling government by the local rivals of the cold war. This was also one of the major reason that led to the fall of demoracy as stability could never be achieved.

2. The nation was also a prey to a number of international conspiracies at the time of the rule under the newly elected local government.

3. Another Major reason that led to the failure of the democracy in Syria was the internal political and economic instability.

So, teh bottom line is that most common factors were on account of demostic policies introducedd by the newly elected government, inter-arab relations, military coups and unfavorable external environment.

Solution: there were many social, political and economic factors that differentiated the nation at the time of Syria’s independence in the year 1946.

Moreover, its unification with Egypt was the sole reason for the fall of Syrian democracy. Though there were liberal institutions yet it faced several obstacles for making it a democratic nation.
