reason out why tje north-south extent of india is larger than its east than its east- west extent even though the country's latitude and longitudinal extent (in degrees) is of identical value

Lines of latitude are equi-distant, while lines of longitude are not. So though N-S extent of Indian Mainland is 3214 km and W-S distance is less , i.e, 2933 km, latitudinal and longitudinal difference is almost the same.
