Well I guess non renewable resources are considered to be cheap and non polluting than convetional sources of energy. Well some of these sources are:

Solar Energy: India has a lot of scope in tapping solar energy as it is located in a tropical country.An average of 20MW per square kilometre per annum of solar energy can be produced in our country.
Wind Energy: India is one of the leading producers of wind power in the world.

Well I guess as comparing it with conventional energy this would be a better option to write as your project as you will get plenty of data for writing on this topic a few of which I already mentioned above. So it's better that you choose it as your topic for project work.
