Given:

Rebecca's kite is flying at a height of 17.2 m and Shelly’s at a height of 21.5 m from the ground

To Find:

Whose kite is flying high and by how much

Solution:

To determine the difference between two given values, subtraction is done.

Let 'a' be the height of Rebecca's kite and 'b' be the height of Shelly's kite.

Now, a = 17.2m

and    b =  21.5m    (Given)

Since the value of 'b' is higher,

Difference between the heights = b - a

                                                     = (21.5-17.2)

                                                     = 4.3m

Hence, Shelly's kite is flying high by 4.3m.
