• The government of Karnataka launches 'Bengaluru Megha Sandesha' app for real-time information on rains, flooding, and thunderstorm alert in Bengaluru.

• This 'Bengaluru Megha Sandesha' app has been developed by Karnataka state natural disaster monitoring center along with the Indian Institute of Science and the Department of science and technology among others.

• The web portal 'Varunamitra' has been launched at the same time. The main aim of this portal and app is to provide real-time data on rainfall, wind speed, atmospheric temperatures.
