Eiffel Tower
Being a literature student and an ardent art lover Paris has always intrigued me. Be it the home of the great Monalisa or the haunt of the world's greatest artists , the mesmerising Monmartre or the immortal city in ' A Tale of Two Cities' or the residence of 'The Hunchback of Notre Dam', Paris was the city I longed to visit.
When I finally got the opportunity to visit Paris I could not resist it. The first thing I did when I put my feet firmly on the Parisian soil was to visit the immortal creation of Gustave Eiffel, the Eiffel Tower.
Luck was on my side as the Tower for a change was not under renovation and I could go right to the top. Escalating up the Tower's escalator was a grand treat. It was a totally different experience.
When I reached up I caught the first eye view of the city of my dreams. The Seine flowed softly away, the Church Tombs peeked towards the sky, I could spot the Basilica Sacre and view the ant-like immense Parisian Traffic scuttling around.
I felt I was at the top of the world. After treating my eyes to the Paris Panaroma I decided to treat my Indian appetite. I descended the enchanting lift to the gourmet restaurant named after my favourite writer-Jules Verne and had my fill.
It was almost evening so I took a nice stroll round the Tower and waited for the sparkling light and sound show.
Oh, what a sight it was! Dazzling like a million diamonds it was at its resplendent best. When I returned to my hotel it was the Eiffel feeling all over me . I feel the Eiffel mania till now. What a sight!
