Dear Rakesh,
How are dude? Hope your exams are over and you are ready to come over for a small holiday. This time when you are here, I have planned an exciting activity for us.
Last week our school organised a 'Social Service Camp' for the Secondary School students. We were taken to a village called Rampur, 20 km away from our town. Our teachers told us that the village school does not have a playground and the government has given funds to construct one. As part of our social service camp, our teachers decided to help the school headmaster by offering our services free of cost.
So my friends and I cleared away an acre of land which was full of rocks and unwanted bushes the entire day. It was a hot and sunny day and we were given special caps and provided water and lemonade to beat the heat. We really enjoyed the work and by 4:00 in the evening, we cleared the land ready for the school to construct their playground. The Headmaster of the school was very happy with us and gave is small bookmarks made by the school children.
My teacher told me that if we wanted to do voluntary social work, we could a local NGO and serve people. This time when you come for vacation, let us join the NGO. Hope to see you soon.
