The main elements of the Belgium model of power-sharing is based on horizontal power sharing method and it includes:

(i) Constitution commands that the representation of Dutch and French-speaking representatives shall be similar in the Central Government. Some specific rules require the assistance of a majority of representatives from every linguistic group. Thus, no particular association can make judgments unilaterally.

(ii) Many authorities of the Central Government is been distributed with State Governments of the two states of the nation. Thus the State Governments are not inferior to the Central Government.

(iii) Brussels had a separate administration in which both the associations have similar representation. The French-speaking people received similar representation in Brussels because the Dutch-speaking association has admitted equal representation in the Central Government.
