Convert all to cm:

10 m 44 cm = 1044 cm

15 m 12 cm = 1512 cm

Find the prime factors:

1044 = 2² x 3² x 29

1512 = 2³ x 3³ x 7

Find the HCF:

HCF of 1044 and 1512 = 2² x 3² = 36

Find the number of 36 x 36 square stones needed length-wise:

Number of square stones = 1044 ÷ 36 = 29

Find the number of 36 x 36 square stones needed breadth-wise:

Number of square stones = 1512 ÷ 36 = 42

Find the total number of stones needed:

Total number of stones = 29 x 42 = 1218

Answer: 1218 square stones of 36cm by 36cm are needed.
