Red light however bright cannot cause emission of electrons from a clean zinc surface but even a weak uv radiations can do so why?

Red light has a larger wavelength but a smaller frequency. As we know for the emission of electrons , threshold frequency should be surpassed. UV radiations have higher frequency and hence emits electrons when it strikes the zinc surface.
