Hey!

Redox reactions are the reactions in which oxidation and reduction takes place simultaneously. These reactions are of three types - :

• Combination reactions
• Decomposition reactions
• Displacement reactions

As you asked for examples of redox reactions during decomposition reactions , here they are -:

=> Decomposition reactions are the reactions in which a compound breaks down into its constituents.

• NaH ===> Na + H2 [Unbalanced]
2NaH ===> 2Na + H2 [ Balanced]

• H2O ===> H2 + O2 [Unbalanced]
2H2O ===> 2H2 + O [Balanced]

hello friend!

=================================================================

Redox stands for reduction and oxidation.
reduction means loss of oxygen and Oxidation means the gain of oxygen.

for example ---> CuO + H
₂ ------------> Cu + H₂O

here, both reduction and oxidation are going on concurrently, this is called as a redox reaction.

The types of reaction are:

→ Combination reaction
→Decomposition reaction
→ Displacement reaction
→ Combustion reaction.
→ Disproportionation reaction

As per your question, let's discuss about decomposition reaction.

In decomposition reaction substance breaks down to give more than one product. It releases gas and there can be seen a change of colour according to the chemicals.
For decomposition reaction general equation is AB → A + B
examples: CaCO₃ ------> CaO + CO₂ ( simple thermal decomposition)
                  Pb ( NO₃) -------> Pb + NO₂ + O₂ ( with evolution of coloured gas)
