Phosphorylation means synthesis of ATP in presence of sunlight. The process of photophosphorylation occurs during photosynthesis and produces ATP, which is used subsequently in reduction of carbon dioxide during dark reaction. The photophosphorylation can be cyclic photophosphorylation or non cyclic photophosphorylatIon. During non cyclic photophosphorylation both ATP and NADPH

are produced, whereas during cyclic photophosphorylation only ATP is produced.
