Let the present ages of Reema and Varun be x and y respectively.

Case 1:

Reema is twice as old as Varun.

It can be represented in the form of linear equation as:

Case 2:

Since It is five years ago, Therefore we Subtract 5 years from their ages. And Reema age is three times varun's age.

Solving (1) and (2), we get:

y = 10

Putting y = 10 in (1),

Age of Reema is x and that of Varun is y.
