Let age of Reema be x and mother be y.
Acc. to question,
4x = y......(i)
and y+5 = 3(x+5)
⇒ y+5 = 3x + 15
⇒ y-3x = 10
⇒ 4x-3x = 10 (∵4x is equal to y)
⇒ x = 10
∴ y = 4x
= 4×10
= 40
Therefore, present age of Reema is 10 years and mother is 40 years.
