Answer:

Let the present age of reema's mother be x and reema be y .

According to the first condition ,

Reema's mother's age= 3( Reema's age)

x=3y

x-3y=0.............. (1)

According to the second condition,

After 5 years,

Reema's mothers age +5 + Reema's age+5 = 66

x+5 +y+5=66

x+y+10=66

x+y=56...............(2)

Subtracting equation (1) from (2),

x+y =56..........(2)

x -3y=0...........(1)

- + -

________

4y= 56

y= 56/4= 14

Substituting the value of y in equation (1) , we get

x- 3(14) =0

x-42=0

x=42

The present ages of Reema's mother and reema is 42 years and 14 years respectively.

Given :

  • Reema's Mother is thrice as old as Reema .
  • After 5 years the sum of their ages will be 66 years .

To Find :

  • Present Age of Reema and her mother .

Solution :

\longmapsto\tt{Let\:Present\:Age\:of\:Reema\:be=x}

As Given that Reema's Mother is thrice as old as Reema . So ,

\longmapsto\tt{Reema's\:Mother=3x}

After 5 years :

\longmapsto\tt{Age\:of\:Reema=x+5}

\longmapsto\tt{Age\:of\:Her\:Mother=3x+5}

A.T.Q :

\longmapsto\tt{x+5+3x+5=66}

\longmapsto\tt{4x+10=66}

\longmapsto\tt{4x=66-10}

\longmapsto\tt{4x=56}

\longmapsto\tt{x=\cancel\dfrac{56}{4}}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{x=14}

Value of x is 14 ..

Therefore :

\longmapsto\tt{Present\:Age\:of\:Reema=x}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{14\:yrs}

\longmapsto\tt{Present\:Age\:of\:Her\:Mother=3(14)}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{42\:yrs}
