Answer :-

→ Reema's average speed = 0.3 m/s

→ Reema's average velocity = 0 m/s

Explanation :-

We have :-

• Width of the pool = 100 m

• Distance covered by Reema = 200 m

• Time taken = 10 mins = 600 sec

________________________________

For average speed :-

= Total distance/Total time

= 200/600

= 2/6

= 0.3 m/s

For average velocity :-

In the above case, the initial and final points of Reema are same. So, her displacement will be zero.

So, her average velocity :

= Total displacement/Total time

= 0/600

= 0 m/s

Given:-

  • Width of the pool is 100m wide

  • Reema Covers = 200 m

  • Time taken to cover 200m = 10mins

To Find:-

  • Her average Speed and Velocity

Formula used:-

  • {\boxed{Speed=\dfrac{Distance}{Time}}}

  • {\boxed{Velocity=\dfrac{Displacement}{Time}}}

Solution:-

Firstly,

  • Time = 10mins = 10 × 60sec = 600sec

Now,

:\implies\: Average\:Speed=\dfrac{Distance}{Time}

:\implies\: Average\:Speed=\dfrac{200}{600}

:\implies\: Average\:Speed=\dfrac{2}{6}

{\boxed{:\implies\: Average\:Speed=0.3m/s}}

And,

As we know, Reema's initial and final points of are same. So, displacement = 0.

:\implies\: Average\:Velocity=\dfrac{Displacement}{Time}

:\implies\: Average\:Velocity=\dfrac{0}{600}

{\boxed{:\implies\: Average\:Velocity=0m/s}}

Hence, her Average speed and Velocity is 0.3m/s and 0m/s respectively.
