Reena wants to calculate percolation rate of garden soil. For this she took 200 ml of water in a
beaker and hollow pipe of 20cm long with 5cm of diameter. But she is wondering how to do it and
decided to try it in four ways. Choose which is the correct method?
a) She collected approximately 500 gram of soil from different corners of garden and puts it in
hollow pipe which is fixed on ground and pour water over it.
b) She inserted a hollow pipe 2 cm deep in soil and pour water in the pipe and observe till water is
absorbed completely.
c) She digs 10 cm deep pit in the soil. Now, she inserts the hollow pipe in it and then then pour
water over it.
d) She collected the 500 g of soil. Heat it in beaker so that water molecules already present in it
get removed. She then added 200ml of water to it.
