bcz first two resistors and last two resistors are series (4&4) ,

in middle 2R and 2R are parallel,(identical resistors are arranged parallel it get

$2r \div 2 = r$

then again 2R and 2R are parallel,

then it get again r

then finally two resistors are series then add it get 2R

totally 4R,2R and 4R are parallel it get 1
