Answer:-

Pollution of Ganga And Yamuna Rivers:-

  • Both the rivers, i.e. Ganga and Yamuna are sacred rivers of Hindu Mythology. They are named after Goddess Ganga and God Yamuna.
  • Now-a-days, human population is increasing day by day.
  • Hence, number of industries are increasing at a very high rate due to fulfilling the complex demands of the people.
  • At the time, pollutants are released by the industries and they are released to both the rivers.
  • This is harming the Marine life, i.e. life under water.
  • This is also making them polluted rivers.

(Note: If it goes on for a long time, the oceans would be polluted very soon and the environment would be lost. If it is lost, survival of animals should be very difficult.)

Air Pollution Affecting The Taj Mahal:-

  • Now-a-days, due to increase of industries, air pollutants are released by the industries.
  • Air Pollutants :- Any gas, or object that polluted the air.
  • This also includes Carbon Dioxide.
  • Gases like Carbon Dioxide, Nitrogen Dioxide, Smoke, etc. also released by them.
  • When they mix with water vapours (coming from rivers, oceans, etc. water bodies), they yield Sulphuric Acid and Nitric Acid.
  • These acids, when mix with rain, form harmful Compounds.
  • This is known as Acid Rain.
  • When, it falls over marble items (say Taj Mahal), it becomes yellowish.
  • This phenomenon is known as Marble Cancer.
  • This is the main reason of making Taj Mahal yellowish.
