The acronym ICT means Information and  Communication Technology.

ICT refers to the technologies of the hardware and software that enable humans to communicate with one another.

There are four main periods in history of ICT evolution which are;

1. Premechanical period

2.Mechanical period

3. Electromechnaical period

4.Electronic period

The development of the pre-mechanical period can be traced in the 3000 BCE-1450CE.

During this period, human beings were communicating with one another using words and pictograms drawn on rocks.

They then started to write symbols in stone tablets to depict pictures that were images for animals, ideas and objects.

Storing of information on paper was revolutionized when paper was produces from the papyrus plant.

Human beings then started communicating through writing on papers, which grew into large books which led to the establishment of libraries.

Libraries were then considered as the first data centers in history.

Numerical information also spread faster in the world enabling human beings to make calculations simpler and more organized.

Abucus then developed a counting device that is similar to the current calculator to count and collect information.

Since then ,a lot of technological inventions have been made such as inventions of various types of computers that have helped the world to be ICT enabled.

It is so evident that all th technologies we are using in the modern days are as a result of the early humans ideas.

CT is a term used to describe technologies for manipulation and communication of information. With the development of telecommunication networks, computer technology has been used steadily for switching nodes and support services in non-switching nodes. The amount of information processing required for mobility and service management has increased enormously with mobile telecommunications, resulting in a huge increase in computer communications in the telecom environment.

EXPLANATION:

At the same time, computer communications have been developing in science and the business, the enormous increase in the capacity and numbers of personal computers has also resulted in the extraordinary changes brought about by the Internet, which have led to a combination of computer technology and telecommunications; the transition from analog to digital then to packet technology and the internet, whether "public web" or "controlled internet," has grown to become the dominant data communication system currently used.

The capabilities of ICTs in developed countries are large and sophisticated, whereas they can be less accessible and have lower capacity in developing countries. Developing countries quickly catch up with the leapfrogging of old technology generations and the creation of solutions to the needs of their users. The lack of a legacy network in some cases promotes rapid modernisation.
