Refractive index of violet, yellow and Red colour of light for a material of lens are 1.66, 1.64 & 1.62 respectively. If mean focal length of lens is 10 cm. Then chromatic aberration between the colour of violet and red will be
(1) 0.625 cm (2) 0.125 m (3) .02 cm (4) 0 cm

Hello friend,

● Answer -
Chromatic aberration = 0.625 cm

● Explanation -
# Given -
μv = 1.66
μy = 1.64
μr = 1.62

# Solution -
Dispersive power of material is calculated by -
ω = (μr - μv) / (μr + μv - 1)
ω = 2(1.66 - 1.62) / (1.66 + 1.62 - 2)
ω = 0.08 / 1.28
ω = 0.0625

Chromatic aberration between colours is -
c = ωf
c = 0.0625 × 10
c = 0.625 cm

Therefore, chromatic aberration between colours is 0.625 cm.

Hope this helped.

Answer:

longitudnal chromatic abberration  = ω*Fy(focal length of yellow color)

[uv -ur  ÷  uy -1]*fy

these all value put in question and get the answer self

ur = refractive index of red color

uv = refractive index of voilet color

uy =  refractive index of yellow color

Fy focal length of yellow color

Explanation:

vvvv
