refractive index = a
1a2 = refractive index of alcohol with respect to air ,i.e., a2/a1= 1.36/1= 1.36
similarly, 1a3 = a3/a1 = 1.47
therefore, 2a3 = a3/a2 = 1.47/1.36 = 1.08

hope this helps u

n alcohol =1.36

n turpentine oil= 1.47

alcohol with respect to turpentine oil= n alcohol / n  turpentine oil

                                                              = 1.47/1.36

alcohol with respect to turpentine oil= 1.08

in alcohol light will travel faster
