1a2 = refractive index of alcohol with respect to air ,i.e., a2/a1= 1.36/1= 1.36
similarly, 1a3 = a3/a1 = 1.47
therefore, 2a3 = a3/a2 = 1.47/1.36 = 1.08

similarly, 1a3 = a3/a1 = 1.47
