Given,

Refrective index of diamond,\mu_d =  2.4

and refractive index of diamond  with respect to glass, \mu_dg = 1.6

   As,       \mu_dg =1.6

           →  \frac{\mu_d}{\mu_g}  =   1.6

           → \mu_g = \frac{\mu_d}{1.6}

                     = \frac{2.4}{1.6} = \frac{3}{2}

Again,we know that,

                  Refractive index, (\mu) = \frac{c}{v}     [c → velocity of light in free space]

∴Velocity of light in glass ,(v_{g}) = \frac{c}{\mu_g}

                                                   = \frac{2}{3} c         [c = 3 * 10^8 \ m/s]
