Let us Assume That, before GST , Price was Rs.x .

Than,

it is given that, when 12% GST was added in that price it was sold for Rs.5400.

So,

x + (12% of x) = 5400

→ x + (12x/100) = 5400

→ (100x + 12x)/100 = 5400

→ 112x = 5400 *100

→ x = (5400*100)/112

x ≈ Rs.4821 (Ans.)

Hence, Before GST, the price of dress was Rs.4821.
