Relationship between average and peak value of A.C:

• The average voltage (VAV) of a sinusoidal waveform of A.C is calculated by multiplying the peak voltage value by the constant 0.637, which is two divided by pi (π).  

         

                                Vaverage = 2Vp /pi = 0.637Vp

• The average voltage, which can also be stated to as the mean value, be determined by the magnitude of the waveform and it is not a function of either the frequency or the phase angle.
