Many enduring monuments like palaces ,forts ,tombs were built by the rulers who had a deep interest in it. Rulers probably felt that the bigger and grander the building, the richer and more powerful they would be considered. Architecture was used as a statement of power. Arts and crafts were patronised by the rulers. The products were unmatched for their beauty and skill. The rulers employed skilled workers by thousands all over the country. Many of these buildings and art works were destroyed by succeeding rulers and their own edifies put up instead. However several earlier art and architecture works have managed to to survive until now. They give us an idea of the beauty and the variety of art works and architecture in the earlier time.
