Oxidation is a process in which any of the following can occur-
1. loss of Electrons.
2. removal of Hydrogen.
3. Addition of Oxygen.
Oxidizing Agent is a substance that oxidizes any other substance. In return the Oxidizing Agent gets reduced. Examples - KMnO4, K2Cr2O7, OsO4.The oxidizing agent causes oxidation of other compound and that compound causes reduction of this oxidizing agent.

OXIDISED SUBSTANCE MEANS AN ELEMENT GAIBED OXYGEN OR LOSES HYDROGN
OXIDISING AGENT MEANS WHICH THE ELEMENTS TO GET OXIDISED BY LOSING OXYGEN FROM ANOTHER ELEMENT.
EX:- Mg + Cuo ---> Mgo + Cu
here Mg is OXIDISED
Cu is OXIDISING Agent
