Relation between time period and frequency

Time period and frequency are inversely proportional to each other. The greater the frequency, the lesser is the time period and vice versa.

Time Period is the time taken by a vibrating body to complete one vibration. Frequency is the no of vibrations produced by a vibrating body in 1 second.



Let the frequency be f.
f vibrations are produced in 1 second.
1 vibration is produced in 1/f second.

But,time taken to complete 1 vibration=T(Time period)

Hence,T=1/f
