Report on Cleanliness Drive
Guru Harkrishan Public School, Vasant Vihar undertook a cleanliness drive with a spate of activities during the month of October, 2014 as in accordance to the nation-wide Swachh Bharat Cleanliness Campaign launched by Prime Minister on 2nd Oct., 2014. The school chalked out a plan to organize a wide range of events like inter-class and inter-house competitions for the whole month which included skits, debates and speeches etc. A special cleanliness drive was carried out on 17th Oct., 2014 to reverberate to mission of the campaigning. The students took a pledge to clean their school, homes, public places & surroundings. Students were given handy tips to keep their surroundings and school clean.
During the morning assembly a play on ‘Clean India’ was also enacted to highlight the importance of hygiene, sanitation and cleanliness.
School Principal S. Harinder Pal Singh Virk, Vice Principal Mrs. T.P.K. Gujral along with staff & students were actively involved in the cleanliness drive. They enthusiastically took up brooms and garbage bags to clean up every nook and corner of the class rooms, corridors, school grounds, parking lot and nearby areas.
The whole drive was quite inspiring and motivating for the staff and students. The students realized that any work is best done when it is carried out by a person himself. It also made the students aware of the dignity of labour.
