Kashmir, specifically Srinagar is presently facing the lowest temperature of the season and also the coldest day in 70 years at -6.3° C.
It is currently under the wraps of the coldest/ toughest 40 day period of the winter season, which is also known as 'Chillai-Kalan'.
All the lakes and water bodies like the famous Dal Lake have all frozen due to extreme climatic conditions.
This has also resulted in the water in the pipelines to freeze as well, also electricity supply problem , thus making it difficult for the people to survive.
