The Nature Club of The Western Ghats International School celebrated Van Mahotsav Week, by organising a tree planting drive. School correspondent, Hemalatha Sashikumar, presided over the function.

Samyuktha S. Samraj of Grade VIII welcomed the gathering. The chief guests for the celebration were Sujatha and Ramkumar, executive members, ‘Kovai Green League’. The guests highlighted the importance of plants and trees through an audio visual presentation. Students and members of the Nature Club interacted with the guests. The guests and members of the Club planted about 50 tree saplings on the campus and sowed the seeds for organic vegetable garden. Members of Nature Club brought tree saplings and exchanged among themselves and pledged to take care of them. Melodiga Vijayan of Grade VIII rendered vote of thanks.

It is a good news for our school that had been organised a environmental protection programme.It had started from 1Jan-7Jan. This week is known as the environmental protection week. We planted saplings in our school. For this, a rally was organised in the village by us. We broadcast it to people. It was successful. More People support us. It was a great success for us. We took oath, we don't destroy our environment
