KANPUR: A free eye check-up camp was organized by Bharat Vikas Parishad at Barra area on Sunday. Dr Rohit, Dr RB Singh and Dr Akhilesh examined around 270 patients while 42 were referred for eye surgery.
The organizers also distributed free medicines and lunch packs to the visitors in the camp. Free lenses and spectacles were also given to the patients. "Such initiatives are helpful for poor people like me who cannot afford expensive procedures and medicines. The doctors at the camp assured me of a free surgery after which I will be able to see properly," said Pushpa Mishra (73), a patient. In another event, members of Shree Maheshwari Mahila Mandal organized a free eye check-up camp in Khairabaad Dharmashala to mark the New Year. Around 175 patients were tested by the experts in the camp. The organizers also arranged 50 cataract surgeries of the patients.

During our Summer Vacations, the Sunshine Housing Society (our society) organized a two-days free eye camp in the Japanese Park in Rohini. More than 250 villagers and children came to attend this camp.
Dr Meeru Prasad along with her team of Eye Specialists treated the patients and provided free spectacles and medicines. It was a worth befitting camp.
