4. Take OC as base line and draw a perpendicular of 1 cm at C , let this is CD

5. Join O and D , length of OD =√6cm.

6. Take OD as base and draw a perpendicular of 1 cm at D, let this be DE.

7. Join O and E ,the length of OE =√ 7 cm

8. Put the compass on O, measure till point E and draw an arc to join E to number line at E'.

9. Where the point meet is the distance of √7 from OE.
