Solution,

We can solve this mathematical problem using the following method.

The method of representing numbers on number line is as follows-

Negative numbers are written to the left of 0 and positive integers to the right of 0. In the same manner that every integer can be represented on the number line, rational numbers may also be represented on the number line.

If the denominator is x we need to split the line between 0 and +1 or -1 (depends upon the sign) into x equal segments.

For the first one (i)

let's say, $\frac{1}{2} =\frac{5}{10}$ and another number is given, $\frac{3}{10}$.

The denominator is 10 we need to split the line between 0 and +1  into 10 equal segments.

Now select the 3 rd bar as A and 5th as B, those respectively represent,  $\frac{3}{10}$ and $\frac{1}{2} =\frac{5}{10}$.

(ii)The denominator is 7 we need to split the line between 0 and +1  into 7 equal segments. But the numerator is 8 means >7, so we need to draw to +2.

Mark the 1 sth bar after +1 as C, and this indicates  $\frac{8}{7}$.

(iii)Given rational number,$\frac{21}{7}$ we can say this is 3.

So Mark 1, 2, and 3, mark the point as D and it's marked.

Hence, here are the rational numbers (i) $\frac{1}{2} ,\frac{3}{10}$ (ii) $\frac{8}{7}$ (iii)$\frac{21}{7}$ represented on the number line.
