It also believes in redistribution of wealth to the poor. The difference between socialism and communism is that communism believes in forceful taking of property. Socialism may be seem good at first, and the economy might boom at first, but the end result is quite simple, where there is no competition, the people will soon be lazy, and the economy will soon fail. Socialism also has a tendency to form social hierarchies in the system, since most leaders will soon be corrupt and will sap money from the public properties.
