Community based rights given in Constitution is a dynamic concept, created on demand for few years subject to revision in every ten years. It is not an eternal system like Indian caste system. It has to continue as long as social equilibrium is not reached.
The same articles of the constitution which describe equality as a fundamental right also provide for reservation. Both articles 15 (prohibition of discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth) and 16 (Equality of opportunity in matters of public employment) allows for exceptions to be made for the advancement of socially and educationally backward and under-represented groups, in particular SC/STs.
