Resistance of a given wire of length „l‟ is 4ohms. The wire is stretched uniformly such that its length

becomes 3 l . Find the new resistance of the stretched wire.​

4= rho l/A------>1

if length become 3l

Rn = rho 3l/A = 3 (rho l/A) where Rn is new resistance

from eq 1 we get rho l/A = 4

Rn= 3×4 = 12

Rn = 12
