resistance wire made from German Silver has resistance 4.25 ohm calculate resistance of another wire of same material such that its length increase by 4 time and area decreased by 3 time

Answer:
The resistance of the second wire is 51 ohm
Explanation:
Given that, the resistance of garman silver is R1=4.25 ohm.
Let the length of the wire is L1=l
And the area of the wire is A1=a
For the second case R2 and which is unknown.
The lenght of the second wire is L2=4l (as given that the length of the wire is 4times of the first wire's length)
The area of the second wire is A2=a/3
So now we can say that,
(R1.A1)/L1=(R2.A2)/L2
=>R2/R1=(4l/l).(a/(a/3))
=>R2/4.25=12
=>R2=12x4.25
=>R2=51 ohm
The resistance of the second wire is 51 ohm
