horizontal component = 4√2 N and vertical component= 4√2 N

we have to resolve force horizontally and vertically.

see figure, here force of magnitude F = 8N is inclined at an angle 45° with the horizontal (x - axis).

horizontal component of Force = Fcos45°

= 8 × 1/√2 = 4√2 N

vertical component of force = Fsin45°

= 8 × 1/√2 = 4√2 N

also vector form of force, F = (4√2)i + (4√2)j
