Respiration is considered as exothermic reaction because energy is released in this process.
Glucose combines with oxygen present in our cells to form carbon dioxide and water along with energy.

Respiration is exothermic reaction becoz in respiration CO2 is released out which is a form of heat. Therefore, exothermic reaction is a reaction in which reaction takes place which release out of heat as product.
