it is possible due to the presence of an enzyme in the retroviruses which is known as the reverse transcriptase enzyme.

Explanation:

  • In the retroviruses the genetic material which is present is the r n a. Due to the reverse transcriptase enzyme it converts the RNA into DNA and as a result of this now both the infected cell which is the first and the the virus both have DNA.
  • When there is DNA modulation of the host and as a result of this the virus can then act on the the infected host cell and cause it's damage.
