⚪Mrs. Smith went to the police claiming that her vintage necklace was missing. When the police arrived, they saw no signs of a break-in. Only one window was broken. There was a total mess inside the house and dirty footprints all over the floor.
The next day, Mrs. Smith was arrested for fraud. Why?

It is given in the fourth and fifth lines of the poem that only the window was broken and house was completely messed. The line are :-
"they saw no signs of a break-in. Only one window was broken. There was a total mess inside the house and dirty footprints all over the floor."
If the robbers would have done robbery then they must have broken the window from outside and there must be the broken pieces of Glass on the floor. But there was not a single piece of glass on the floor. So, we can conclude that Mrs Smith broke the glass from inside the house. Thus, the police got to know that Mrs Smith was a fraud.
