The Rift Valley is a continuous geographic trench. It stretches approximately 6,000 kilometres, from Beqaa Valley in Lebanon to Mozambique in South Eastern Africa.

It runs through Syria, Lebanon, the Dead Sea, Gulf of Aqaba and then through East Africa, cutting across Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, Tanzania, Malawi and ending in Mozambique.
