Consumer rights include:

•Right to choose

A consumer has the right to make decision for his/her buy by choosing among the different brands of the same product available in the market. No one can force you to buy things what he wants you to buy.

•Right to safety

Right to safety insures that the products sold by a consumer are certified and authentic. They should include marks like fassi, FPO, ISI, etc to make sure that the products are safe for use.

•Right to seek redressal

A consumer has the right to seek redressal in case of fraud or any harm caused by the product. A consumer can approach to consumer courts to seek relief for the damage caused.

•Right to be heard

Right to be heard states that a consumer has the right to approach consumer forum to file a complaint against any unethical, impulsive and unauthorized malpractice of the manufacturer or salespeople.

•Right to be informed

Right to be informed states that the consumer has the right to know everything about the product. This is made possible by printing all the information on the labels of the product. Important information like MRP, expiry date, manufacturing date, contents, etc must be provided on the label.

•Right to consumer education

Right to consumer education states that the consumer must have the knowledge of his rights and unethical practices prevailing in the market.
