Rina thinks of a number subtracts 13/5 from it. She then multiplies the result by 10. The number thus obtained is 2 less than 7 times a number Rina thought of. Find the no.?

Let the number be x.

When subtracted 13/5 from the assumed number x, it becomes x-13/5

Multiplying by 10 gives 10(x-13/5).

The result is same as 2 less than 7 times a number i.e. 7x-2

10(x-13/5) = 7x-2

2(5x-13)=7x-2

10x-26=7x-2

3x=24

x=8

The number Rina thought is 8.
