multiply 300 with 1/3 to get 100
subtract 100 from 300 to get 200
multiply 200 with 1/4 to get 50
ad 100+50=150
300-150=150
remaining amt =$150

Total money with Rita=$300
Given that Rita spent 1/3 of her money on notebooks.
Therefore, money spent by rita on notebooks=300/3=$100
Remaining money=$300-$100=$200
also given that she spent 1/4 of her remaining money on stationery items.
Therefore, money spent by Rita on stationery items=200/4=$50
Total money spent by Rita=$100+$50=$150

Hence money left by Rita=$300-$150=$150
