SOLUTION

✰Let speed of rowing in still water= xkm/h

✰Let the speed of current = Y km/ h

✰So, speed of rowing downstream = (x+y)km/h

✰ And ,speed of rowing upstream = (x-y)km)/h

According to the Question

 \implies \frac{20}{x + y}  = 2 \: and \:  \frac{4}{x - y}  = 2

⟹. 2x+2y=20 and 2x-2y= 4 -----(ii )

Adding (i ) and (ii ) Equation

We get ,

y = 4

Putting the value of y in Eq ---- ( i)

⟹2x+ 2×4 = 20

⟹2x= 20-8

⟹2x= 12

 \implies \frac{12}{2}

⟹x= 6

speed of rowing in still water = 6 km/h

 \therefore \: speed  \: of rowing  \: in  \: still  \: water = 6 km/h \:

Speed of current = 4 km/ h
