Ritu wants to divide Rs 300 between his two sons Amit and Nitin in the ratio of their ages. If the age of Amit is 12

years and that of Nitin is 8 years. Find the share of each.​

To Find:-

  • Find the share of Amit and Nithin.

Solution:-

Let the age of Amit be " 12x "

And Nithin age be " 8x "

\tt\implies \: 20x = 300

\tt\implies \: x  =  \dfrac{300}{20}

\tt\implies \: x = 15

Hence,

Amit age is

\tt\implies \: 12x

\tt\implies \: 12(15)

\tt\implies \: 180

Nithin age is

\tt\implies \: 8x

\tt\implies \: 8(15)

\tt\implies \: 120

Verification:-

\tt\implies \: 12x + 8x = 300

\tt\implies \: 12 ( 15 ) + 8 ( 15 ) = 300

\tt\implies \: 180 + 120 = 300
