There are mainly two reasons for the absence of shadow

As it is an empty room no shadow could not be formed

It could have been daytime which affected the formation of the shadow.

a light source ,an opaque object and a screen the room in which ritu entered was empty so no opaque object was empty to cast a shadow ,that is why she did not observe any shadow
