River Ganges (Ganga) pollution

River Ganga is our mother. We worship her and seek her blessings with devotion and dedication. She is the main reason of our sustenance and life. It is on the banks of River Ganga that millions of Indians thrive and live on.

However, Ganga has now become much polluted. Every year tonnes of trash are dumped into the river mercilessly. The river is filled with toxic pollutants and materials that are hazardous to fishes and organisms living in it. People wash their clothes, immerse corpses and also idols in the river and dump their untreated waste into the water body.

This is very harmful not only for the Ganges but also for the humans as a lot of diseases are being born out of this pollution. So we must act fast and help in cleaning the river Ganga before it gets polluted beyond our control.
